There is a constant surge in foundry grade pig iron prices in Punjab, due to supply shortage, SteelMint learned from sources. The current reference price is reported at INR 35,500-700/t, up by INR 2,000/t against INR 33,600/t, a week ago, FoR Ludhiana. As per sources, due to ongoing farmers’ strike, the material is stuck in the mid-way, resulting in no availability of material at the Phillaur siding of Ludhiana, which is one of the major unloading stations.
