Chinese scrap consumption increases in Q2 CY’20 – BIR

Chinese steel scrap consumption of 52.22 mn t in the Q2 CY’20, 25.7% higher than the 41.53 mn t in the first quarter, according to Bureau of International Recycling. However, in H1 CY’20, there was a 7.3% drop in China’s steel scrap usage for crude steel production to 93.75 mn t as compared to 101.13 mn t in CPLY.
