Global Pig Iron Production up 2.3% M-o-M in May'13 

The year 2013 has met with a rise in Pig iron production since the beginning, from most of the countries across the world.

Pig iron production across the globe, from January to May in 2013, accounted for an increase by 4.2% to a total quantity of 487.6 MnT in comparison to the similar period in 2012.

In the month of May this year, the total global Pig iron output moved up by 2.3 MnT M-o-M and by 4.1% Y-o-Y. It stood at a total quantity of 100 MnT.

Country wise Pig iron output (in MnT) in May with Y-o-Y Change:

Produced quantity saw an increase on Y-o-Y basis:

India 4.1,     Up by 12%

Asia  76.95, Up by 6.3%

China 61.1,  Up by 6.6%

Japan 7.2,    Up by 5.4%

Produced quantity saw a decrease on Y-o-Y basis:

EU     8.2,    Down by 0.9%

CIS    7,       Down by 1.8%
