Chinese steel imports rise by 72% y-o-y during Jan-Sep’20

The steel imports in China during the first nine months of CY20 (Jan-Sep’20) have increased by 72% y-o-y to reach 15.07 mn t. However, during Sep’20, the same has fallen to 2.88 mn t from 3.15 mn t in Aug’20, witnessing an 8% m-o-m drop. Higher Chinese domestic prices due to limited inventories boosted imports.
