Liberty Steel Group is planning to start the Odisha-based Adhunik Metaliks plant acquired via the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code in Mar’20 for INR 500 crore, sources divulged to SteelMint. Liberty Steel was already engaged in capital repairs at the plant which has a 0.5 mn t pa blast furnace. Liberty wants to double the plant’s capacity. It has also taken over Zion Steels which produces rebars for Adhunik Metaliks.
