India’s total Non-coking Coal imports increased by 13.6% to 2.1 MnT during the week ended on 1 Feb, 2014.
SteelMint assessed that India has imported around 2.1 MnT of Non-coking Coal at the end of week 5, which has increased from 1.8 MnT of preceding week. Out of the total imported Coal, around 77% was Non-coking Coal comes from different destination.
Most of the Non-coking Coal is imported from Indonesia, South Africa, Australia & Mozambique. Out of the total weekly imports, India has imported around 1.7 MnT of Non-coking Coal from Indonesia, about 0.20 MnT from South Africa, around 0.15 MnT from Australia and imported around 25,000 MT from Mozambique.
Considering 33 major and minor Indian ports, Mundra has imported maximum quantity i.e. around 0.41 MnT of Coal in Week 5. Contribution of quantity was given by Adani Power and Coastal Gujarat Power. Krishnapatnam, the second highest quantity port imported 0.27 MnT of Non-coking Coal belongs to MBG Commodities, JSW Energy and Basudha Udyog.
SteelMint assessed that Adani Power and Adani Enterprises are the major importers of Non-coking Coal last week. Adani Enterprises has imported about 0.37 MnT of Non-coking Coal from Indonesia & Australia. Adani Power has imported around 0.32 MnT from Indonesia& South Africa.
Goa Ispat offers Indonesian 6,300 GCV Coal at INR 6,350/MT Ex plot basis from Mangalore port. However, South African RB2 (6000) Coal is trading between INR 6,300-6,400/MT.
