Indian steel industry needs to cut import dependence for special grade steel to make India self-reliant in value-added steel production, said the Union State Minister of Steel Faggan Singh Kulaste at an event organized by FICCI. Industry players can conduct research & development activities, go for transfer of technology, or form JVs to set up special-grade steel plants in the country. This will help India become ‘Aatmanirbhar’ in value-added steel and save huge forex outgo, he further said.
