China: Manganese ore imports surge over 9% on year

Data furnished by China’s General Administration of Customs show that China imported 3.186 mn t of manganese ore in Aug’20, up 0.236 mn t or 8% month-on-month and 9.22% on year. Cumulative imports during Jan-Aug’20 were 18.95 mn t, down 12.73% on year, as per data accessed by SteelMint. The top exporting countries contributed 3.134 mn t in Aug’20. South Africa exported 1.404 mn t, or 44.06% of total imports.
