World crude steel output was recorded at 156.24 mn t in Aug ’20, up by 2% m-o-m on improved capacity utilization. In similar lines, output was up by 1% on an annual basis compared to 155.37 mn t in Aug ’19. China’s production hit a record high of 94.85 mn t in Aug ’20, up by 2% m-o-m.
