Japan’s crude steel output increased by 7% m-o-m to 6.44 mn t during Aug’20 as compared to 6.04 mn t in Jul’20, according to the recent data by Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF). In response to demand recovery, major Japanese steelmakers have ramped up their production capacity. Recently, JFE Steel announced resumption of blast furnace No.4 in Fukuyama works.
