A separate zone for handling cargo headed for neighbouring Nepal is coming up at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata in what is the first dedicated cargo handling area inside any Indian port. It is believed that with Kolkata Customs allocating the separate zone, cargo movement will receive a boost and handling time for consignments to Nepal will reduce substantially.
