Iran produced close to 12.86 mn t of DRI during 20th Mar’20-21st Aug’21, 2020 – the first five months of the Iranian fiscal – recording an increase of 8% on year. Leading producers include Mobarakeh Steel Co. with 3.2 mn t, followed by Khuzestan Steel Co. with 1.9 mn t. Iran’s May’20 DRI output accounted for about half the total global production, as SteelMint gleaned from media reports.
