The Steel Secretary of Chhattisgarh, Shri G Mohan Kumar had arrived to Raipur for state visit in this week. On his arrival, the representatives of Chhattisgarh steel mills have put their demands and grievances.

Chhattisgarh Steel Mills has demanded from NMDC (National Mineral Development Corporation), the nation’s largest Iron ore producer to give 20% discount in Iron ore offers for local units in the state of Chattisgarh.

Steel manufacturers put their grievance that Iron ore supplied from NMDC is of sub grade quality and someone should be made responsible for it. Currently, NMDC produces 18-19 MnT Iron ore out of which 2 MnT of Iron ore is reserve for the state based industries. Therefore, it also demanded to raise Iron ore quota for state based mills, similar to Odisha Government who has allotted 50:50 rule for merchant miners.
