Indian sponge iron export offers up; inquiries from Bangladesh limited

No fresh inquiries have been reported from Bangladeshi mills on the back of rising Indian sponge iron export offers due to domestic gain. Current offers for sponge (FeM 80, 100% lumps) are at $310/t CPT Benapole (equivalent to $330/t CFR Chittagong, Bangladesh) up by $5/t w-o-w, as per SteelMint’s weekly assessment. The major Bangladeshi mills have held purchases from a long time due to the high cost of sponge iron, exporters stated.
