India: Odisha govt mulling “action” against JSPL for not paying upfront amount for Guali mine

The Director of Mines, government of Odisha, has written to the state’s Steel & Mines Department to initiate “action” against JSPL for not depositing the first installment of the upfront amount of nearly INR 19.94 crore for grant of Guali iron ore mining lease. As SteelMint has reported, JSPL has flagged land survey discrepancies that have halted the mine takeover, while the state government has denied JSPL’s contention.
