Major sponge-iron manufacturers in Raipur confirmed that demand has weakened with drop in furnaces’ production rate as well as margins. Today, a total of about 2,000-3,000 t deals were reported by 4-5 major producers at an average price of INR 20,100-200/t exw, for P-DRI. Also, they believe prices to remain range-bound due to limited demand & rising iron ore and pellet prices on supply shortage.
