Scrap prices rose by INR 200/t d-o-d and INR 700-800/t w-o-w in Chennai and Jalna market with current price assessed at INR 23,800/t and 24,000/t (DAP) respectively. SteelMint learnt from market participants that limited scrap accumulation owing to inadequate utilization of other industries hampered supply movement due to which price may remain range bound in the near term.
