Odisha – India’s largest iron ore producing state recorded production of 6.53 mn t in July’20, up 34%, as against 4.87 mn t in June’20, according to the provisional data of the Odisha Govt. maintained by SteelMint. The figures include the type of material – fines, lump, and concentrate.
- Tata Steel stood the largest iron ore producer for the month at 1.52 mn t, up 5% on a monthly basis as against 1.44 mn t in June’20.
- JSW Steel recorded iron ore production at 1.07 mn t as it began production from all it’s four mines it won in recent auctions.
- AM/NS India also began iron ore production from its mine block it won in auctions and recorded output of 0.22 mn t in July.
- Rungta Mines produced 0.69 mn t iron ore in July’20. The production recorded an increase of 17% as compared to 0.59 mn t a month ago in June ’20.
- OMC output recorded at 0.13 mn t, a significant drop of 41% as compared to 0.22 mn t in June’20.
