Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) – Russia’s leading steelmaker has construction of a new blast furnace No. 11 in pipeline which will increase its pig iron output by 3.7 mn t pa. This furnace, set to launch in 2025. The company reported that its blast furnace shop has produced a total of 650 mn t of pig iron since its launch in 1932. This blast furnace shop has a pig iron capacity of producing 10 mn t per year.
