China’s Shagang Steel has announced a price hike for all grades of domestic steel scrap procurement by RMB 20/t ($3) effective from today. The purchase price for HMS (6-10 mm) is now set at RMB 2,720/t ($392), inclusive of 13% VAT, delivered to headquarters. Tight scrap availability has pushed prices higher, SteelMint learnt from sources.
