JSW chief Sajjan Jindal took to Twitter on Aug 15 to throw his weight behind the government’s vision of expanding the value-added exports basket instead of shipping out iron ore fines and pellets to China, Japan and South Korea in a bid to lessen steel imports. Jindal, who pitched for turning India into the “factory of the world”, had previously pledged to cut $400 mn imports from China.
