Chinese steel imports up significantly 49% y-o-y during Jan-Jul’20

World’s largest steel producer -China has recorded a sharp increase of 49% y-o-y in steel imports and volumes stood at 9.95 mn t during Jan-Jul’20, compared to 6.66 mn t in CPLY. Imports in Jul’20 stood at 2.61 mn t, up 39% m-o-m. Strong demand and cost-effective imports, kept imports on the higher side.
