India: Structure Demand increased, Prices remain Unchanged

Structure demand in Central & Western India has increased. However, Prices in most of the major markets remain unchanged.

Structure demand is increased in Central & western India as expected by the market players. During the month of January, the government and private companies started their construction projects fluently which resulted in price hike and improvement in demand.

Few major brands based in Raipur have supplied around 2500 MT (average quantity, district wise) of Beam to Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board (CSEB) in this month.

In Raipur, local Structure offers are increased by INR 400-500/MT in a week’s time and INR 1,200-1,300/MT M-o-M. Also, Angle 40 mm traded at INR 33,100/MT today.

On the other side, in Mumbai prices move up by INR 500/MT in a week’s time. Today, Channel 75 mm traded at INR 37,100/MT, same as yesterday.

Ahmedabad’s Structure prices drop by INR 300-500/M. At present, Channel 75 mm offered at INR 35,200/MT. Structure prices fall mainly as Alang’s Scrap prices drop by INR 300-400/MT. Whereas, Alang’s melting Scrap traded at INR 26,000/MT.
