Indian Billet exports have increased as compared to Dec, 2013. Trade sources confirm that exporters are offering Prime grade Mild Steel Billet at around USD 510-515/MT on FOB basis from Indian coast.
Exporters added that most of the shipments are sailed to Bangladesh & African countries. Another source confirmed that a lot of around 500 MT was sold to Nepal at around USD 490/MT on Ex-plant basis in Durgapur (West Bengal), freight would be another USD 30-40/MT. Indian Domestic prices move up to INR 1,000-1,500/MT M-o-M basis.
