India: NTPC adds 800 MW thermal capacity in its Chhattisgarh plant

Indian power utility firm NTPC has increased its thermal power generation capacity by 800 MW at its Lara thermal project in Raigarh taking the NTPC’s total generation capacity to 63 GW. Out of this 55 GW is coal-fired capacity at 33 power plants while remaining is a mix of gas, liquid fuel and renewables. It expects to add 4.74 GW coal-fired capacity in FY21.
