Tata Steel to replace blast furnaces with EAF at Port Talbot: Reports

Tata Steel plans to shut down two blast furnaces at its South Wales steelworks at Port Talbot and replace them with electric arc furnaces, risking millions of jobs, in order to clean up the site’s carbon emissions in an attempt to get government’s support via Project Birch fund.
