During the first Iranian quarter i.e. 20 Mar-20 Jun’20, the steel exports of (semi-finished & finished) from the major manufacturers of Iran stood at 901,126 t, registering a decline of 46% CPLY. The country had issued new export guidelines, which restricts the mills to export only 25-40% of their production, which has resulted in a fall in exports. In addition to it, COVID-19 was another factor that limited exports.
With 810,244 t, semi-finished steel captured the largest share of ~90% of total steel exports to register a y-o-y decline of 43%. Ingot/billets were the most exported product during the quarter, with 605,757 t. However, the commodity has booked a y-o-y decline of 32%
