Bangladesh: Mid-sized mills keep rebar offers unchanged

Mid-sized mills in Dhaka, Bangladesh, have kept their rebar prices flat amid stable demand in the domestic market.

Rebar offers for 10-32 mm were reported at BDT 51,000-51,500/t ($ 602-607) this week.

However, discounts of BDT 600-800/t were being offered by a few rebar mills on large bookings, market participants told SteelMint.

Current offers of rebar, billet & scrap

• Chakda Steel & Re-Rolling Mills (Pvt.) Ltd. based in Dhaka offering rebar (CSRM) at BDT 51,000/t, size – 10-32 mm, EXW.
• Domestic billet (size – 100 mm X 100 mm, length 6 meters) offered at BDT 41,000-41,500/t ($ 484-489) ex-works in Dhaka.
• Few containerized shredded scrap deals of European origin were done at $ 300/t CFR Chittagong.
