State-owned Manganese Ore producer MOIL Ltd. has kept prices unchanged for the next quarter (July-August) across its product basket. This announcement comes as a dampener to the Manganese Alloys industry, which was hopeful of a price-cut as the Alloy market has corrected considerably in the past month.
The price of highest grade (Mn – 48%) is now being offered at Rs. 14,868 per tonne, compared to Rs. 15,333 per tonne for the highest grade (Mn – 49.5%) offering for the previous quarter. MOIL Ltd. , India's single largest Manganese Ore producer has not changed prices, but has reduced prices on pro-rata basis for the lesser grade committed.
Industry sources believe that MOIL has kept prices unchanged in line with the increased price of imported Manganese Ore, contrary to the general market expectation of a price-cut. This quarter a total of 2,23,607 MT is offered by MOIL, compared to 2,54,869 MT in the previous quarter.
