China’s benchmark coal price moves up amid reduced supply

BPSI (Bohai-Rim Steam-Coal Price Index) – a leading indicator of China’s domestic coal prices edged up by RMB 12/t ($1.7/t) w-o-w and stood at RMB 545/t ($77.9/t). The large stock gap in ports amid incessant rains coupled with production suspension by various mines has supported the marginal recovery in thermal coal prices.
