CIL restores mining operations post strike

Coal India Ltd (CIL) has reinstated normal working conditions across its various subsidiaries, after witnessing a hindrance in production due to strike activities.

The workers had gone out on strike to protest against the government’s decision on commercial mining, which lasted from first shift of 2 Jul’20 to third shift of 4 Jul’20, without any untoward incidence. After which, normalcy was resorted from the first shift of 5 Jul’20.

Recovering from the set-back, CIL has recorded coal production of 12.98 Lakh tonnes as on 8 Jul’20 which was 91% of the target.

Notably, NCL and MCL had attained their respective production set for the day. However, production at NECL remained temporarily suspended due to delay in clearance from MoEF&CC.
