South African govt has suspended scrap exports for two months to ensure an affordable supply of scrap to support the domestic industry in a circular dated 3 Jul’20, provided that export permits were issued prior to publication date, SteelMint learned. Country exported 0.52 mn t of ferrous scrap in CY19, majorly to South Asian countries.
