India: APL Apollo reports highest ever sales in FY20

APL Apollo Tubes Limited (APL) announced its financial results on 1st July for the quarter and year ended 31st March, 2020. It’s sales volumes surged by 22% to 1.6 mn t in FY20 compared to 1.3 mn t in FY19. This is company’s highest ever sales recorded so far.

As per annual report, the company’s sales & net profit rose sharply in FY20 as against FY19. The rise in sales volumes is due to uptick in demand and consumption across sectors. Further, increased contribution of share amid increase in capacity from 2.1 to 2.5 mn t in FY20, assisted to improve the overall performance.

Performance highlights-

— In FY20, the company’s large share of sales volume was contributed by Apollo Structural (53%), followed by Apollo Z (21%), Apollo Standard (13%), Apollo Tricoat (7%) & Apollo Galv (6%). Company’s consolidated its leadership position in structural steel tubes with market share improvement to 40% vs 36% in FY19.

— Company’s EBITDA sharply rose by 23% y-o-y to INR 5 Bn in FY20.

— Net profit stood at INR 2.4 Bn in FY20, increased by 61% compared with 1.5 Bn in FY19.

APL is the largest producer of Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) Steel Pipes and Sections in India, with a capacity to produce 2.5 mn t per annum. It caters extensively to the region and exports to over 20 countries globally. The company’s vast distribution network is spread across India, with warehouses and branch offices in 29 cities.
