Odisha restricts entry of port-bound iron ore trucks amid surging exports

Local authorities in Odisha have restricted the entry of trucks carrying iron ore to Paradip port in view of heavy vehicular congestion. This comes at a time when global iron ore prices hit 10-months high on active Chinese buying (which accounts 70% of global seaborne iron ore trade), leading to surge in fines’ exports from India and increasing port activities.
