India’s crude steel output increased significantly by whopping 70% to 5.32 MnT in May’20 as compared to 3.13 MnT in previous month since mills increase their capacity utilization to 80-85% in May against 30-40% in April’20. However in Apr-May’20 the output fell sharply by 54.3 % to 8.457 MnT as compared to 18.489 MnT in Apr-May’19 due to lockdown announced amid COVID-19 pandemic.
