Rastriya Ispat Nigam Ltd – Vizag Steel Plant (RINL-VSP) has rolled out billets of 125*125mm size for the first time from its Medium Merchant Structural Mill (MMSM) by modifying its Roll Stands to meet the increasing demand. Previously, MMSM rolled out billet of max size 90*90mm only.
Sri P K Rath (Chairman and Managing Director, RINL) said that it is a momentous occasion for RINL to bring out a new product from its sophisticated mill to suit to the market demand. He further congratulated the MMSM team and Works Division for this achievement and exhorted them to take up further innovations to meet the market demand based on customer requirements.
The company also revealed that they have carried out trial operations for IS: 2830 grade and if required, RINL may roll out billets of other grades as well.
RINL – VSP is a state owned steel company at Visakhapatnam, known for producing special steel, including wire rod coils, round, billets of different grades and dimensions to meet the demands of infrastructure, construction and auto industry etc.
