India: TMT Gauge Difference up by INR 200 in Raipur

Raipur Steel Re-rolling Association increases TMT gauge difference by INR 200-300 w.e.f. – 27 Dec, 2013.

Earlier, TMT manufacturers in Raipur used to open 12mm TMT price as basic size, but in the beginning of this year they replaced 12mm to 20mm. In the end of the year, they again increased the TMT gauge difference by INR 200-300/MT in various sizes.

A TMT manufacturer in Raipur said, we were not getting that benefit in viability and conversion gap with gauge difference and we find it the right time for the increment. At present, finish demand is good in pan India.

One month earlier, in Muzaffarnagar, Jaipur and Durgapur the prices on Re-bar gauge difference were also increased to about INR 300-500/MT in various sizes to make a balance in conversion.
