RINL’s nut coke sales has witnessed bid levels similar from the previous auction, as limited industrial operations has reduced the specific requirement of the material.
In the recent sales held on 28 Apr’20, the company had floated 5,000 MT nut coke via road mode of auction. Out of which 2,000 MT material was booked at a price of INR 17000/MT.
The previous road sales had also registered the same bid price but lesser quantity was procured at that time. Out of 5,000 MT nut coke being offered for sale on 13 Apr’20, only 1,000 MT was lifted by the buyers.
It is pertinent to note that restrictions imposed during the lock-down period has curtailed operations at the ferro-alloy plants, which are the chief consumers of nut coke.
Nevertheless, road-sale was realized as a better alternative among the buyers to cater their part requirement which offers minimum bid requirement of 50 MT. In contrast, the sale involved in rail-mode requires the buyer to lift the entire 2,650 MT being offered in a rake, which had fetched an inferior bid price of INR 15000/MT in the auction held on 21 Apr’20.
