India’s gross finished long steel production (non-alloy) moved up by 3.4% to 49.7 MnT in FY’20 against 48.07 MnT in FY’19, as per the JPC data maintained with SteelMint.
It’s been observed that finish long steel production increased marginally on account of improved consumption which is moved up by 2.74% to 46.84 MnT in FY’20 from 45.59 MnT in FY’19.
Commodity Wise
— Bar and Rod production increased by 6.35% to 40.48 MnT in FY’20 against 38.06 MnT in FY’19.
— Structure production was registered at 7.41 MnT in FY’20, down by 13.7% from 8.59 MnT in FY’19.
— Railway material production was 1.81 MnT in FY’20 surged by 27.5% as compared to 1.42 MnT in FY’19.
Company Wise
— Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) stood as top producer with 4.93 MnT in FY’20, increased 4% against 4.74 MnT in FY’19.
— Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd. (RINL) produced 3.59 MnT in FY’20 (-15%) against 4.23 MnT in FY’19.
— JSW Steel long steel output was registered at 3.28 MnT in FY’20, almost stable against 3.27 MnT in FY’19.
— TATA Steel produced 3.12 MnT in FY’20, inched down by 0.64% as compared to 3.14 MnT in FY’19.
— Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (JSPL) produced 2.69 MnT in FY’20, enlarged by 57% as compared to 1.71 MnT in FY’19.
— The production from medium and small scale mills moved up by 3.5% to 32.08 MnT in FY’20 as compared to 30.98 MnT in FY’19.
