Govt owned unit – Steel Authority of India had issued tender for the sale of 28,000 MT iron ore fines from its Rajhara mines in Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), Chattisgarh. In recent update received, the company has extended due dates for fines sale to 20th May’20 against last due date of 20 Apr’19.
As per company officials, in order to resolve queries related to sales guidelines and necessary updates to be made in auction documents, they have extended the due date.
In Sept’19, the Indian government took a decisive step in assuring the supply of raw material to steel sector by allowing Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) to sell 25% of its total annual mineral production in the merchant market. This was in order to avoid any kind of possible disruption that may occur because of mining auction due on March 2020.
