Iron ore production from SAIL (Steel Authority of India Ltd) mines in Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh mines have achieved accumulated 3.2% growth to 29.26 MnT in the financial year FY’20 against last fiscal year, as per the reliable sources. The figures are inclusive of that from SAIL BSP.

Similarly, iron ore dispatch from the above mention mines increased by 5% to 29.43 MnT in FY’20 against the last fiscal. The figures are inclusive of that from SAIL BSP.
— SAIL iron ore mines achieved a landmark in iron ore dispatch in this financial year FY’20 with 7% growth to 22.37 MnT. This is the highest dispatches ever over 20.91 MnT in FY’19.
— They have also achieved best-ever iron ore rake dispatch in this financial year at 6,327 rakes.
— Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) recorded iron ore fines dispatches of 1.046 MnT (295 rakes) in this year (FY’20). This is the best performance by the steel plant since its commissioned.
In Sept’19, Indian allowed SAIL to sell 25% of its total annual mineral production in the merchant market. Govt has also given permission to sell 70 MnT of subgrade minerals in the captive mines of SAIL.
