India’s Vizag Steel to Shut One Blast Furnace – Sources

Vizag Steel – one of India’s major finished long steel producers has temporarily suspended operations at one of blast furnace as per the government guidelines, SteelMint learned from its reliable sources

Earlier the company was producing around 18,000 MT hot metal per day from their 3 BF’s. However with recent shut one of BF, the capacity utilisation has come down, sources close to the matter cited.

RINL produces around 4.2 MnT finished long steel every year and supplies mostly in the south, west & eastern India.

Further, it’s being learned from SteelMint sources that due to lack of manpower and large mills are trying to lower their capacity utilisation.
