India: NMDC Iron Ore Auction from Chhattisgarh Mines Receives Flat Bids

India’s largest iron ore miner – National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) conducted today an e-auction from its Chhattisgarh mines. The offered material comprised of 16,000 MT calibrated lump ore, 24,000 MT ROM, 28,000 MT iron ore fines and 8,000 MT iron ore lumps.

According to market sources report to SteelMint, major steelmaker of India booked 20,000 MT fines and 16,000 MT DR-CLO at base price. However, the response to other lots could not be received at the time of publishing this report.

In Jan’20, NMDC Ltd hiked its iron ore prices twice for the month of Jan’20. Prices of Baila lump ore is at INR 3,200 per wet metric tonne (wmt), Baila iron ore fines are at INR 2,910 per wet metric tonne. FoR prices mentioned are excluding Royalty, DMF, NMET and other taxes.
