Imported scrap offers to Bangladesh move down further against last week on account of global price downtrend, SteelMint learned from the market participant. Offers for HMS scrap also fell against last week, with few trades being concluded.
SteelMint’s price assessment for containerized Shredded scrap from UK/Europe currently stands in the range of USD 295-300/MT, CFR Chittagong, dropping by USD 10-12/MT W-o-W. Few offers from Chile were reported in the range of USD 285-290/MT CFR Chittagong.
Bangladesh based buyers were heard to be bidding for US origin Shredded scrap at levels of USD 290/MT, CFR considering price decline, shared a participant.
Currently, HMS1 from Brazil is being offered at USD 270/MT CFR Chittagong. Market participants reported some trades this week, although quantum is not significant.
P & S scrap offers from Brazil was reported in the range of USD 285-290/MT, CFR Chittagong, down by USD 10/MT W-o-W.
