Nilanchal Ispat Nigam Ltd (NINL), one of the largest integrated Iron and Steel plant in Odisha, has raised offers for coke products formed in its coke ovens for Jan’20.
Amid a deteriorating coke market, the company had made a series of price cut to maintain the competitiveness of these products. However, in line with the gradual rise in Ferro alloy prices, where coke is predominantly used, NINL has hiked the prices in the month.
For sales of LAM coke, NINL had introduced four quantity slabs this term, where highest price of INR 20900/MT was quoted for booking up to 3,000 MT. Bulk booking of LAM Coke above 10,000 MT was offered at a price cut of INR 800/MT, at INR 20100/MT.

The company has specified that the buyer would have to pay 10% advance along with initial payment of 1,000 MT for purchase up to 5,000 MT LAM Coke. While for booking above 5,000 MT, the buyer would have to bear 10% advance along with initial payment of 2,000 MT. Remaining payment is required to be paid within validity of price circular.
NINL’s LAM coke offers hold a price advantage of INR 900-1100/MT over the same proposed in case of nut coke this term. Apparently, price of nut coke was increased only in range of INR 300-800/MT from the previous revision.
Price of nut coke for sale up to 3,000 MT was quoted at INR 20000/MT, while for bulk booking above 10,000 MT, the same was available at a discount of INR 1000/MT at INR 19000/MT.

The company has highlighted that the buyer would have to pay 25% advance for sale of nut coke across the entire quantity slabs, with the option to pay residual payment till the validity of the price circular.
