Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) – one of the leading exporters of Iran has concluded a billet export deal of quantity recently. The deal quantity is of 30,000 MT for size 150*150 mm, 5sp grade for Mar’20 shipment. As per market sources, the company has concluded the deal to South East Asia. The deal value was reported to be around USD 400/MT, FoB Iran.
Last week, Iranian billet export market remained silent due to escalated political tensions with U.S. SteelMint’s billet export assessment for Iran stands at USD 395-400/MT, FoB Iran. Global scrap market sentiments and CIS billet export sentiments have slightly inched down this week.
As per Financial Tribune, semis production of heavyweight steel producers was recorded at 15.39 MnT during the first nine months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Dec. 21, 2019) and 1.72 MnT in the ninth month. The country’s semis production registered a Y-o-Y growth of 4% during first nine months and 3% during ninth month.
Meanwhile, KSC has registered itself as the Iran’s second largest semi-finished producer during the first nine months with 2.81 MnT of semis production.
