India: SAIL Floats Export Tender for 18,900 MT Blooms

Steel Authority of India – a government of India companyhas floated export tender for prime mild steel non-alloy concast blooms. The tender quantity is reported to be 18,900 MT. The cargo will be shipped from Haldia port. The tender put up is for Prime Mild Steel Non-Alloy Concast billet/bloom, size150*150mm offered from IISCO Steel plant.

The material offered is 4 SP /5 SP. It has following specifications – C%: 0.17-0.23, Mn%: 0.6-1.0, S%: 0.05 Max, P%: 0.05 Max, Si%: 0.10-0.35 OR C%: 0.27-0.32, Mn%: 0.7-1.0, S%: 0.05 Max, P%: 0.05 Max, Si%: 0.10-0.35.

The said invitation bid service has been activated by SAIL for entry of data at 16:30:00HRS [IST] of 13 Jan’20.  The last date for bid submission is 16 Jan’20 by 16:00:00HRS [IST].

Prior to this, the company had floated a billet export tender for size 105*105mm and 16,000 MT from Bhilai Steel Plant for which due date was 23 Dec’19. According to sources reported to SteelMint, the company has concluded the tender at around USD 425/MT, FoB. The cargo will be shipped from Vizag port and the shipment is scheduled by 7 Feb’20.

Last week, global billet market witnessed limited trades amid escalated political tensions between U.S and Iran. However, no major drop in billet trades were reported in any of the major markets.

CIS billet export price assessment stands stable this week at USD 410/MT, FoB Black Sea.
