Iran: Steel Output of Major Mills Up 11% Y-o-Y

During the first nine months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Dec. 21, 2019), Iran’s major steel producers, produced 25.54 MnT of steel; semis and finished to book a Y-o-Y rise of 10.8%.

The country’s finished steel production stood at 10.14 MnT including hot- and cold-rolled coils, rebar, beams, pipes, wide and galvanized sheets to book a Y-o-Y growth of 6% during the first nine months. The ninth month finished production & Y-o-Y growth was captured at 1.02 MnT and 12% respectively.

Meanwhile country’s semis production of heavyweight steel producers was recorded at 15.39 MnT for nine months and 1.72 MnT in the ninth month. From growth perspective, the country’s semis production registered a Y-o-Y growth of 4% during first nine months and 3% during ninth month.

With an output of 13.26 MnT, Mobarakeh Steel Company held the largest share of steel production in Iran during the first nine months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Dec. 21, 2019)The company’s finished steel and semis production were recorded at 6.19 MnT and 7.06 MnT respectively. The company’s finished steel production posted a Y-o-Y growth of 2%.

In finished steel production, MSC was followed by Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO) with 1.7 MnT (up 5% Y-o-Y), Oxin Steel Company with 587,840 MT (up 23% Y-o-Y). Below table shows the major producers of finished steel during first nine months of current Iranian Year.

In semis production, MSC was followed by KSC with 2.81 MnT (down 1% Y-o-Y), ESCO with 1.79 MnT (up 6% Y-o-Y). Below table shows the major producers of semis during first nine months of current Iranian Year.
