–Nepal’s semi finish steel imports stood 120,487 MT, observed a rise by 66.8% M-o-M in Dec’19. Billet import volumes accounted 95,387 MT. Billet import volumes have hit 5-month high as these levels were last seen in Jul’19.
–SteelMint assessment for IF grade billet export to Nepal from India increased to USD 420-422/MT landed Raxaul border in Dec’19 end against USD 390-395/MT landed Raxual border in beginning of Nov’19.
–Nepal sponge iron imports were recorded at 25,100 MT in Dec’19.
–Finish flat imports rose by 32.3% M-o-M to 57,962 MT against 43,803 MT in Nov’19. Major share comprised of HRC/Plate up to 42,614 MT, CRC 12,619 MT.
–Nepal’s finish long imports sharply fell by 30.3% M-o-M in Dec’19 to 14,409 MT. Consisting wire rod 11,537 MT and structure 2,872 MT.
