–Finish flat imports fell by 16.5% M-o-M to 43,803 MT against 52,475 MT in Oct’19. Major share comprised of HRC/Plate upto 30,473 MT, CRC 8,771 MT, Galvanised Steel 3,197 MT.
–Nepal’s finish long imports sharply fell by 28.2% M-o-M in Nov’19 to 20,662 MT. Consisting wire rod 13,901 MT and structure 6,760 MT. Weak local steel demand towards end Oct resulted in lowered production and in turn lowering finished steel imports to Nepal.
–However Nepal’s semi finish steel imports stood 72,235 MT, observed a rise by 13.6% M-o-M in November 2019. Billet imports volumes accounted 59,470 MT and sponge iron 12,765 MT.
–SteelMint’ s monthly average price assessment of induction grade billet export to Nepal fell from USD 400/MT, in Sept’19 to USD 385/MT in Oct’19. Prices mentioned are landed Raxaul border basis.
